History: During the Cataclysmic Age of Strife there were small Instances of stability where intelligent life could get a foothold, and establish themselves. The Tarellians were one such power, a race of sturdily-built Reptiles who called a desert world their home. Facing the same threats as this ravaged galaxy, they became known as a race of fierce fighters and deeply honorable warriors.
Their small Republic was a beacon of stability and hope, maintaining peaceful relations with their neighbors.

This came to a sudden halt when the Imperium of Man with their Great Crusade discovered the burgeoning Tarellians and launched a war of extermination against the Xenos. Eventually dozens of their worlds, including their homeworld whose name is now never spoken outside their mother tongue out of respect, burned to uninhabitable rock by the fires of Exterminatus. Tens of Billions of Tarellians were dead, and only isolated pockets of survivors remained, mostly voidships lucky enough to avoid being destroyed in the systematic slaughter by jumping to Warp, or tribes that had been offworld.
In the ten millennia that has passed, the Tarellians have changed greatly, fighting for money and answering the call for revenge against the Imperium of Man, leading them to fight for whoever will pay.

They first made contact with the T'au during the Damocles crusade where the Imperium of Man attempted to exterminate the multi-species power of the T'au Empire, this was an ancient Warship of the Tarellian Republic who had spent ten millennia in the Warp, but for the hardy and long-lived Tarellians, was a few short years since the extermination of their homeworld.
They came to the aid of the stricken Dal'Yth Sept where the Crusade had ground to a halt, their powerful frames proved effective in combat.

Once the Damocles Crusade had ended with the Imperium withdrawing, the Tarellians had gained a fearsome reputation, and also, valuable allies amongst the T'au and their alien allies, as thanks they were given an arid world to call their own, and the Earth Caste built monuments to honor their dead. As a result of this, many Tarellians settled on that world, and others of their kind once mercenary and insular gathered there as well to pledge their allegiance to the T'au Empire.
But this was not all their kind, as many still work as mercenaries for the likes of the Drukhari and Corsairs, their own hatred of humans preventing them from siding with the T'au who include human auxiliaries in their ranks.

As auxiliaries, they are well-suited as heavy infantry, often accompanying Fire Warrior Breacher Teams or Kroot Warbands, able to hold their own in close melee combat more effectively than T'au. Due to their hatred of Humans, there are special measures in place, such as additional Water Caste and Fire Caste intermediaries when Tarellians are deployed near Gue'Vesa or human auxiliaries. But in the centuries since their induction into the Greater Good, this sentiment of xenophobic hatred of Humans is slowly waning. But despite this recent boon, the Tarellians are still a scattered and waning peoples.
Their tenacity, ferocity in combat, stocky appearance, snouts and their snarling barking language has landed them the nickname of "Dog-soldiers" amongst humans

CameronMays Filthy Xenos. These abominations are an affront to the Imperium of Man by their very existence. There is no place - neither on the surface of a world nor within even The Warp - that these monstrosities can hide from the righteous cleansing fires of the Imperium.

In the name of the most holy God Emperor of Man, these retched aliens shall join the others as stacks of vanquished foes to be forgotten by Imperial forces.
