A Phantom Thief- Darkest Night.

Synopsis; This is for my character design based in the Persona 5 Royal Universe and not the base game and or Strikers original universe.

Name; Yuri Kazayakia
Metaverse codename; Devil
Gender; Male
Age; 19
Height; 6’1
Build; Average build with a bit of definition and muscle-toned.
Arcana; Major Arcana-The Fool reversed. Formally Death.
Personality and background; Yuri was a former track star that would’ve went to Japan’s top nationals if it wasn’t for the unfortunate awakening of his Persona and the tragedy of his mothers passing. He watched her die in front of him as the two were involved in a terrible car accident. The accident itself was “not” a accident as his mother had suffered a “mental shutdown.” Since he only lived with his mother and his father was not in the picture he had to eventually back out of school and his track-star life and find work to support himself. Eventually he fell into a bad crowd of people and so they taught him the ways of crime and criminal wrong-doings such as stealing, vandalism, arson, and hurting others to get what they wanted.

Yuri drifted apart from his crime-riddled friends and fell into a deep depression. This made him have a darker outlook on those around him and the very understanding of existence. He is more emotionally cold back shows empathy to those whom he trusts. He exhibits happiness when given the right amount of emotional support and is sometimes a bit of a jokester.

He is shown to be extremely serious in moments when it calls for it. He becomes the no nonsense type. He shows no remorse to those who cross him or those who anger him, in which he is quick to show. Has a bit of a “Kill or be killed” mentality and isn’t afraid to take one’s life as death has no effect on his mental psyche. In fact, death is what allowed him to awaken his persona in the first place. Giving him access to the death arcana right away until later when he adapts and gains the Fool in Reverse.

His ability to feel certain emotions can be hard to obtain, he would have to dig real deep to unlock the ability to even just crack a smile, a smile that is rarely shown.

Yuri first joined the Phantom Thieves upon the metaverse being reawakened once again, two years after the events of Royal’s story. An unknown entity had forced itself to assume the powers of the once former “God of Control.” Harnessing the ability to manipulate others within the real world and causing multiple mental shutdowns within the people of Tokyo.
At first Yuri encountered the Thieves in Mementos and had a long hard-fought battle with Ren who has recently returned to visit his friends. Ren had the upper hand as he had access to power Yuri did not. He was outclassed by the sheer teamwork they had amongst themselves. At first he thought it was they who were causing the shutdowns but after fighting them he realized it was the very same group who defeated the former God of Control and saved mankind from certain enslavement and doom.

After losing, Ren and the other thieves noticed how powerful Yuri was just on his own and thought it would’ve been better for him to have joined them. From there on, he was made a member and eventually grew fond of his new friends, even if it took time getting used to human kindness and teamwork. He was quick to befriend Ryuji Sakamoto as both of them ran track and had a fondness of athletics of the sort.

Abilities and skills; He is talented in the arts of stealth and is quite daring. He is able to craft infiltration tools such as lockpicks and various tools needed for a Phantom thief’s arsenal. He is very exceptional with swords as he used to practice Kendo and Kenjutsu. He is fairly skilled at parkour and track as he used to run for his school track team back in the day. Within the metaverse, Yuri can shapeshift into various other shadows due to his Persona’s ability. He can also create multiple variations of himself to confuse and overwhelm his enemies.

Description; Yuri has long brown hair that he gets from his mother and green eyes. His eyes change to a golden yellow hue when using his persona. He wears a black long coat with a hood that often overs the top of his head, black jeans with tears and chains that hang from his left hip, along with a pair of black combat boots. Sometimes he wears a dark blue beanie.

His summer attire consists of a light sky blue tank top, dark blue jeans with a skull and crossbones patch sown into the right thigh, white sports shoes and a dark blue beanie.

Metaverse gear consists of a black trench coat with red accents that trail down the seams of the coat, a black buttonup shirt with a brown leather harness across the chest area, black pants with a brown leather belt that are tucked into black combat boots at the bottom, and a black and red mask with horns that represent a Oni/demon.

Weaponry; Yuri can use dual katanas and has access to two revolvers. He can use his variation ability to stack the amount of shots that can be fired due to him being able to make clones and manifestations of his original self.

Personas and persona abilities; Yuri’s original persona “Deathhound” is a black and red wolf with red aura emitting from his body. He can use Bufudyne and Eigaon as his main two attacks. Deathhound can allow Yuri to make and manifest copies of his own body to further do damage to his foes. It also helps with scouting out the metaverse and palaces.

Once Yuri experiences his second awakening Deathhound evolves into “Freki” A reflection of his much darker side. Freki is a larger more defined wolf with more black than red as he towers over Yuri in a black aura with red accents. Crows ascend from the aura and attack with high accuracy, dealing severe amounts of curse damage. This move is called “Ravenous onslaught” due to its continuous attack phase and has a extremely high chance for insta-kill crits. Is automatically equipped with Ice Age, a severe Ice attack that damages multiple foes and is also equip with major buff skills that increase hit chance, attack damage and defense. Freki can allow Yuri to shapeshift into other shadows and can also take control away from other Persona users, allowing him to control their personas within a five minute time limit.

Yuri’s final awakening, Freki evolves into “North Wind”
North Wind awakens once Yuri obtains the world arcana and awakens his true power. North Wind is a colossal white wolf with blue piercing eyes that turn yellow to sync with Yuri’s attacks and movements. The winds and air around North Wind is extremely unstable as he can essentially turn the very weather from the hottest day to the bleak cold winter. He uses a unique Ice ability that channels from his mouth, after releasing said channel a large beam of ice and wind exhales from North Wind and can completely obliterate everything within the front of said blast. Uses Megidolaon as a secondary attack and has buff stats to increase its effectiveness in damage and range. He has access to the same buff abilities as Freki but with increased attack and defense as well as the duration of the boosts.
North Wind has two attack phases, one within Yuri’s own capacity that allows him to use the after mentioned attacks and the second phase where Yuri can link his own very lifeforce with North Wind and can use a very devastating attack called “Winter Wonderland” this attack unleashes a mass-area wide attack that encases everything within sight in a icy tomb and can rip apart all enemies from the inside and out. Once damage is done, another attack phase will begin which is called “Frostbite’s End.” This attack once pair with Winter Wonderland, will be a constant state of damage done to all parties that have been affected by the previous attack, once done, all heal effects will be rendered null and void do to the special requirements met. After using both attack phases, Yuri’s lifeforce will begin to drain heavily until complete depletion.
