Maybe we are enemies and our kingdoms go to war . one kingdom is defeated and enslaved. One of us takes special pleasure in making the other their personal slave. Degrading and physically destroying their pride and spirit.

Or a certain prince wants to marry one of two rival princesses. But the other tries to sabotage it.

Or its an arranged marriage but I love another.
