Yuki - Snow Spirit

Species: Snow spirit

Age: 15-18 (Age can vary based on setting)

Personality: Yuki is fairly soft spoken; she doesn't like getting rolled up into conflict and shuts down if caught in too much conflict herself. She is somewhat wary of others and can be very secretive for good reason. Yuki wants to make friends with others though and is trying to overcome issues stemming from her past.

Powers: Yuki being a snow spirit has her powers routed in snow and ice. She is often cool to the touch compared to those around her, though this can be brushed off easily. When she becomes overwhelmed, she can end up emitting a cold aura around herself.

Her powers allow her to summon snow and ice by freezing water in the air and objects around her. Whilst she can freeze things, she doesn't have the power to thaw them out after they are frozen.

When using her powers too much, she begins to develop an almost frost across her hands and up her arms where she is doing so. Whilst this doesn't cause her any major harm, if it builds up too much it can make it hard to move easily and takes her some time to recover.

Weaknesses: Yuki is susceptible to heat, due to the cold nature of her species she finds summers hard. She becomes drained quickly and can often end up feeling ill if she gets too warm.

When overwhelmed it can cause her to lose control of her powers or shut down, both of which leave her highly vulnerable at the time.

Likes: Snow, Winter, Cold, her pet snow fox Frost, her adoptive father, walks in nature.

Dislikes: Hot weather, being in confined areas, conflict, people shouting at her, anywhere medical related.

Background: Yuki was brought up in a lab, her origins being kept a top-level secret to the point she doesn't even know if she has parents. Her upbringing was one of strict routine and frequent testing. She was put through regular testing on her abilities and was treated poorly by the scientists around her.

When she would try and argue against what they were doing, they would hurt her or lock her away in a tiny cell on her own for days at a time. The scientists took fondly to abusing her weakness to heat, cranking up the heaters in her room to make her suffer when she refused to go along with their orders.

Thankfully for Yuki, a young scientist by the name of Arlow started to grow attached to the young girl, attempting to object to her treatment only to be shut down by those around him. He would try and sneak Yuki treats when he could or shorten her punishments when she got into trouble. Arlow attempted to advocate for her rights but failed due to the pressure of the higher ups that ran the facility. He would allow her to meet some of the animals that were also under his care in the lab which is how she became friends with her companion Frost, an arctic fox.

In secret he began creating a plan to help Yuki escape, eventually succeeding before taking the two into hiding. Whilst they spent some time laying low, Yuki eventually developed a want to explore more of the world and attempt to build more relationships. She convinced Arlow to enrol her in public education, seeing it as a good way to interact with her peers. Now she attempts to keep her secret as she tries to understand what it means to have a normal life.
