: ̗̀➛ BARBATOS

Venti’s power as a God is often underplayed and underestimated. The version I play of Venti is mostly canon, but with my own ideas and theories. This post is dedicated to describing how I play Venti and perceive his lore as an Archon!

Venti describes himself as the weakest Archon amongst The Seven. This is because Archons gain power through their peoples’ devotion to them, and Venti had refused to directly rule over Mondstadt, as it is the land of freedom.

❝But what does freedom really mean, if demanded by a God?❞

However, despite his absence as a God, Mondstadters are still heavily devoted to Lord Barbatos. Despite Venti claiming himself as weak, he is still undoubtedly the God residing over Mondstadt, and I believe he is more powerful than he lets on–as his people are so faithful in him. Even though he does not make himself known as the Anemo Archon, he still watches over Mondstadt and intervenes when something threatens its freedom. In my eyes, he is one of the most powerful Archons.

I say this for various reasons:

One reason is because Venti is the only survivor of the Archon War and the Cataclysm besides Morax, out of the original Seven. He is also the second eldest.
Another is his extremely powerful control over the winds. When Old Mondstadt was overthrown, he reshaped Mondstadt’s terrain and climate with his powers. He cut and shaped mountain tops and threw them into the oceans. After establishing a new Mondstadt and instilling the ideals of freedom into his people, he departed.
He is also the only Archon the Tsaritsa has cut all ties with, and although for an unknown reason, certainly adds to Venti’s mystery of his power.
Venti claims that an Archon’s power is derived from their rule over their nation, but Nahida (God of Wisdom) states that an Archon derives their power from their people’s faith. Even in his absence, Barbatos probably has one of the most devoted followings out of The Seven.

The two biggest reasons are:
Venti’s gnosis–which resembles the Queen piece in a game of chess, which is widely known as the most powerful piece in the game. This could very well hint at Venti’s actual power that he hides.
Venti was previously worshiped alongside the God of Time, Istaroth, and has a mysterious link with her.

He, in my opinion, is one of the most mysterious Archons and I feel we do not know a lot about him compared to the other Archons. All of this is speculation and not canon, but I play him based on my theories–which I suppose you could call headcanons.

The winds are incredibly strong, and can erode the toughest of stone.
