Stephan Sagraverro || The King

"Only after losing everything you can see value in anything."

Stephan wasn't by any means a cruel ruler. He was strict with his subjects, often scolding them for negligence and demanding the highest devotion to himself, as any King certainly was worth. He was wise, playing the politics game with his neighbours and enemies, keeping them close to himself. But he also was weak for something that was beyond any human being. His weakness was magic.

King Stephan II was known for his extensive practice of magic, trying to create the most powerful spell imaginable. He wanted to have something, that would grant him and his kingdom eternal peace. Who in their right mind would attack them, knowing, that they could wipe the very land their people were living many-many hills away? So he experimented, and days turned into weeks, weeks turned into moths, and moths turned into years. The man knew he had to keep trying, even if the truth slipped away from him time and time again. He created healing spells that could soothe even the most aching wounds, he created transforming spells which could change objects to whatever he wanted. And then...he created the Destruction Spell. The first time he sued it he almost died himself, as it backfired and literally blew into his face, leaving his black hair with a silver strand, a mark that was left after the spell. It served as a reminder to him: never use that spell again, unless in great need.

So Stephen continued learning more about the magic he could wield as well as its influence on the world he supposed to protect. He shared that with his advisors, he shared it with his most trusted Knight, and he hoped to never use harming spells. Instead, he offered his loyal subjects the opportunity to learn the magic too. However, what he couldn't predict is that this decision could lead his Kingdom of Teonia to the very death.
