Appearance: Whereas most soldiers of the Noxhari army are often large and bulky, Shaku is quite the small man. He doesn't appear very tough on the outside, and often has unkept messy hair, he almost never bothers to brush it himself. He also never wears armor, he prefers to remain agile, and trusts his magic for self-defense.
Personality: Despite his blossoming potential, Shaku carries a defeated personality to him. He's never really enthusiastic about anything aside from artwork, and doesn't put much care into anything but. He keeps an even temper often, and isn't really quick to anger or aggressive retorts, but if he's feeling dark, he may be a little more irritable and ready to start a fight. He cares deeply about his friends, although he would never say that to them until they prod him for his feelings.

Weapon of Choice: Paintbrush wand.
He often carries a small, seemingly harmless paintbrush with him, but little do opponents know, it functions more as a wand that helps direct his lethal magic.
Ink magic: Shaku's power rests in visions he crafts in his mind, brough to life through violent ink. These range of abilities vary based on his emotions, and he can bring nearly anything to life through this power.
Crushing Despair: His magic becomes even more powerful when he's overwhelmed with despair and anguish. In this state, he appears as a humanoid made of black ink, its very hard for him to control the magic in this state, but its so lethal that even some gods fear it.
-------Backstory------
Shaku was born to the Grandmaster Usan Snowdrift, a powerful monk within the Noxhari empire, one who stood with the tyrannical king Korak upon his return, believing that the king had undergone some sort of change during his mysterious disappearance. The monks at the monastery were the line of defense in the mountain pass that would give rivals a direct road to the capital of Noxhari.
From a young age, Shaku's mind, body and soul were conditioned to be as one, it was supposed to be his rite to take over Usan's place as the leader of the monastery. However, it was clear Shaku's physical capabilities were not there, he was frail, and not physically strong, what he was, was fiercely intelligent.
Shaku had shown capabilities in his mind that baffled some of the adult monks, so it was decided he would not become a fighter, but a healer, and would be taught the ways of magic. His magic manifested in a weird way, however, instead of controlling the great white mist, that all monks knew how to bend, he gained control over a mysterious form of ink, one that seemed both destructive, and protective.
At this point, Shaku's training was outside of the monks hands, they didn't know what they were dealing with, so they brought in someone who claimed to know. This masked teacher spent days with Shaku, studying his magic and its properties, coming up with ways for Shaku to control the magic, and figuring out the magic centered around his emotions. This was after Shaku got frustrated, and a calm soothing river he created turned to a violent molten fissure.
By the time Shaku was nearing adulthood, his teacher gifted him a special wand that allowed him to control his magic better, it allowed him to become incredibly in turn with his emotions, and guide his magic. What Shaku didn't know, is that this teacher had been syphoning his magic for a deadly spectacle, a spectacle that Shaku would witness the moment he returned to the monastery.
Otherwise peaceful lotus flowers turned into violent explosions of magic, the chain reaction occurring while Shaku was still at a distance, traveling home from his meeting with this teacher in the city. When Shaku got to the monastery, everyone was dead, and he found the explosions has been laced with ink magic. It was then he realized what happened, his teacher was behind this gross display.
At that moment, his mind fractured, one side, full of the light that once made up Shaku's desire to grow and learn, and a darker side, hellbent on making those who did this feel every bit of suffering the monks did. Returning to the city, he was found to be an interesting prospect by the prince Oman, and subsequently recruited into the prince's secret brigade.
Now, whenever he's not on a mission with Oman, he is spending his time tracking down his former teacher. After learning they were part of an extensive criminal operation, Shaku is determined to work through the operation until he comes face to face with the man he once trust, and at that moment, his destiny will be written.
