❀Background❀

❀notes:
Some information is better left untold, as in you’ll find out more later, from either Lola or her family members who’d occasionally show up. To keep the role play interesting.

Lola was born to a fairly good family, at least it used to be. Her father was a carpenter, mother was a lawyer, so money wasn’t much of an issue growing up. She always was taught by both of her parents nothing but kindness.

When her little brother, Forrest, was born, her parents started having very violent arguments and fights, her and her older brother, River, would often sneak into Forrest’s room, to make sure he’s safe while hearing stuff being thrown around, which later turned into taking care of him, changing him, feeding him, bathing him, all at the young age of 6 and 10. The fights kept on getting worse over time, until the line has been drawn, and her mother filed for divorce, and got it eventually, but still wasn’t attentive to her now two years old brother. From there her father went downhill, drinking every day since the moment he woke up to the moment he went to bed. Her father fell into deep depression, and committed a very serious crime, which he was found innocent of due to lack of evidence and broke her mother’s heart. Lola was the only evidence they had, but refused to sell out her father, since she’s always been close to him. It resulted in her mother packing up during the day, and leaving that same day the decision was finalised.

Next thing the kids know, River was 14, Lola was 10 and Forrest was 4, and they had no food, no parents since they couldn’t reach their father, and no money to allow themselves anything like it. River made a decision and called their grandmother, telling her their mum is nowhere to be found, and they ran out of food the day before, that he was worried for Lola and Forrest. His grandmother, of course, rushed to get them and treated them with a good meal at a restaurant, before reporting the situation to the police, thinking something horrible happened to her daughter. She made sure to inform their father’s parents, only to get a very cold “those kids are ruining everything they touch, we don’t want anything to do with them.”

Lola was left emotionally and physically scarred from all the incidents which caused her to panic. Both of her and River did, in fact. They both started working as soon as they could, at 16 while tutoring, and dog walking since they were even younger. When Lola turned 19, her and her brother had bought a house, and took care of Forrest as if he was their own child, like they have been forced to their whole lives. But now it was quiet, like it was with their grandmother, but still being able to be a family.
