FAMILY AND CHARACTER BACKSTORY:

Setsuko's mother being Japanese-Korean and her dad being English makes her a person of mixed origins.
She's technically wasian, but has only the Japanese and Korean nationalities.
Her parents met in college, dated, got married and had her in Japan, though she lived for several years in Korea as well.
Her parents would often take her there to see her relatives, them being the family of her grandmother.

Her mom was born in Japan but moved back to Korea when she was 5 with her parents (Korean mother, Japanese father) so she could have both nationalities and travel however she wanted between the two countries.

Her dad was born in England but always had a passion for Japanese and Korean culture, as well as the opportunities there. He went to college in Tokyo, where he met his wife.

That makes Setsuko 50% English, 25% Japanese and 25% Korean.
Although being born in Japan and her mom having the double nationality played a lot, and she's now considered fully Asian, nationality speaking.

Having blue eyes, naturally lighter hair and a skin different from the other kids at school got her to be bullied a lot, eventually leading to bigger problems. One day, kids were throwing rocks near her to scare her, but one rock was thrown too hard and hit her in the face, leaving a permanent scar on it.

After that, Setsuko changed her behavior drastically for a few years, refusing to interact with anyone at school, even the teachers. She would only do her work on paper. She even cut her hair much shorter as a sign of rebellion of some sort. At home however, or with her relatives she would still talk as much as she used to. She would also sing a lot, wherever she would go, other than at her school.

This earned her to be quite known in her neighborhood and certain karaoke bars, where she would sing with her parents.
She had always been into music, since her parents themselves are musicians and singers. Her father plays piano and her mother plays violin, often letting Setsuko join in with them with her soft voice.

When she was 11, her parents moved with her to Seoul and she tried to be selected as a trainee idol when she was 13. She managed to get good scores in vocals, rapping and even dance, but the judges eventually dropped her because her scar was too visible and could never be hidden well enough for her to have a perfect skin.
Setsuko then decided to sing and play on her own, the western way, gaining her own success.

With her parents' help, she released 2 albums, "A child of light" and "Rightful feelings" between the age of 14 and 17. She then focused on releasing covers of songs she liked, in a special EP. After graduating, she moved to the U.S. and released even more singles there, because it was easier and the standards weren't as high. By the age of 19, she released her 3rd album, "Explicitly me", where she focused on Diss tracks directed at people that weren't named.

She had her U.S. tour at 20 where she sang mostly covers and some of her own songs.

She then moved back to Korea at 21 and got to do collabs with 4th Generation K-pop groups Stray Kids, Ateez and Kep1er, gaining more fame. She also had collabs with famous Japanese artists like Ado and Mafumafu.

At now 22 she keeps on releasing tracks, working alone or with independent musician friends from time to time. When they perform together they use the group name "So(u)lists".

Setsuko is capable of speaking English, Japanese and Korean fluently.
