Background
(A rough draft of his backstory that will be updated in time... If I actually remember to-)

Len was born as Alexander Wright many centuries ago to a poor family consisting of only his mother and father. This ended almost immediately however, as his mother died giving birth to him, and after 4 years of being left alone while his father worked, cleaning up after feces on the street and other, basic, peasant work. Though they rarely met and spent time together, Alexander found himself truly loving his father and the effort he put in for them. Which made it all the more upsetting when his father sadly passed away from what we now know as the common cold.
Orphaned and not knowing what else to do, the young child took up stealing from others, mainly the rich, but he wouldn't hesitate from stealing from anyone that seemed to have some to spare. He was rarely caught, and if he was, his age was typically enough to get away with only a light beating.

It was 10 years after this, that Len was finally caught by a knight, who just so happened to be the captain of the royal army. It had been the worst case scenario, there was no way for him to get out of this situation where he was surrounded in such a way. The captain was with two other knights and Len was by himself; now scared of what would happen to him, his instincts took over and the flight or fight response kicked into gear, or rather in his case it was fight or die. As the three approached him, he ran towards one of the younger knights beside the captain and using years of pickpocketing skills, managed to take his shortsword. He wielded it in both hands like a novice would, and the captain responded by saying he would take the 14 year old boy on by himself, drawing his own sword and wielding it as an expert would, both hands gripping the handle of the blade firmly with a small smirk on his face. It was obvious who would be the victor, the two other knights stood back and watched as a small fight ensued, with Len attacking the captain first out of instinct, hoping he would get a chance to get out of the situation… But in all reality, no matter how hard he’d try and even though he put up a brave fight, the little orphan was far outclassed by the captain. That was until the very final blow, where Len out of force of will, luck, and his own natural talent, successfully countered the captain's strike, allowing him to jab the stolen sword towards the captain's armoured chest, where it promptly slid along the curve of his armour. The captain lowered his sword to Len, who couldn’t do anything but look up in shock and fear, as thoughts of what awaited him in the afterlife filled his mind, but much to his and the other knight’s surprise; the captain spared him with a friendly smile, impressed by the boy's skill. He then asked Len a question that would change the boy’s life forever: if he would join the knights. While the others disagreed wholeheartedly, they were quickly silenced by the captain as he held his hand out for Len. Who, awestruck by this, and knowing it would be a much better life than what he had now, gladly accepted the captain's offer, joining the knights training academy under the captain's tutoring, Len matured into an expert swordsman and quickly rose to be the captain's right hand man.

During the boy's training, a young queen had gotten an eye for him, and slowly became infatuated with the trainee knight, watching him from afar as five peaceful years passed, and the 19 year old Len had replaced the old captain who had retired at the age of 35. Len was now in charge of keeping the peace around the city for the most part, but turned a blind eye to the kids that would. Everything seemed well.. Until war was declared, and the former orphan was sent to the front lines, killing hundreds upon hundreds of enemies, and at times, he was ordered to massacre innocents. It wasn't what he had wanted, but he kept telling himself that it was for his home and after 3 more years, the battle was won.. Though Len wasn’t sure if the price had been worth it. Yet it was because of those actions that the queen had become impressed by his capabilities, and asked Len in person to stand by her side as her protector.

Over the next year, Len grew fond of the Queen, even being allowed to learn and even call her by her name, Detanese Irevion, while everyone else was only allowed to call her, “Her majesty.” With the months passing by, it became clear to the queen what she wanted, it was the person she had her eyes on for the last half a decade and as such, decided that he would be her king. The marriage happened soon after this, a time where Len hadn’t felt happier in his entire life. Nothing could go wrong at this stage of his life, though the happiness wasn’t for long as the queen was getting old in her eyes, and she decided to tell Len of why no-one knew much about her, a show of trust.. She had been alive for the past 120 years thanks to a ritual that sacrificed the life of a young child. Len looked down as she asked him to bring her said child, his love for her and his duty as a knight to serve her pushed any misgivings aside as he went out into the city, in search of what she needed. It wasn't long before he found a sick child, thinking he wouldn't have long left, Len used this opportunity to give the kid what could have possibly been the best day of his life, before knocking him unconscious for the queen. The ritual that happened soon after was as successful as ever, and she was now 12 again. There was emptiness to the celebrations that happened after though, as she looked up at the slight wrinkles in her husband’s skin.

She didn't want to outlive the one she loved and he wanted to protect her for eternity.. The sacrifice would have been too suspicious if performed more than once in such little time.. So they decided to attempt a different ritual, rather than sacrificing the entire population over time. This ritual involved summoning a demon and fusing its soul to a human's, of course there had been no successful accounts of this, but she tried anyway. The demon they summoned, happened to be a demon lord, Ifrit, through a certain spell that gave up many of the queens recently gained years, they were able to separate it's soul from its physical body and fuse it with Len's. At first they thought it had been a success, that she would have her eternal lover. Yet much to their surprise it had actually failed, like all the others before and now Len was slowly beginning to turn into the demon lord from within his human body. The immortal queen looked through her books frantically. She had finally found love and she was not going to lose it at any cost. Eventually, upon finding a textbook of forbidden seals, she discovered a spell which halted the demon's soul, stopping it from devouring Len's. All it required was a few more drops of innocent blood, more than a fair price to pay to save who she loved. From this point on, Len was only half a man, no longer would he feel hunger or thirst for normal drinks. He now matched how he felt when he saw those children be sacrificed, as a demon inside. Yet.. And yet he had never been happier to know he wouldn’t leave his queen’s side.

After a few hundred years of living practically the same life, with one, giggling, tiny addition, the religious people of the city somehow learned of what had transpired and rose up against them. Little did they know, it was merely a rumour devised by a priest who had fallen for the queen. Which inevitably created a small army from the very citizens Len had wished to protect with his new abilities. If it had just been him alone in this situation, he would have left, or killed everyone involved, however, he wasn't prepared to risk the life of the family he had never truly had, and so decided he would take the punishment for them while Detanese and his daughter fled the city. Waiting within his castle’s master bedroom, he listened closely for the footsteps that would follow what he thought would be the end of his new life. Pulled to the church, he gave no resistance, hoping they would, even if it was only the slimmest of chances, see he was not a threat to them or the city. For his troubles, he was taken to a furnace and branded with an upside down cross on his side, a sign of him being a demon, before being locked away in a barren cell, waiting for the day when they would end his life. Yet, that day didn’t seem to come, a fatal error on their parts.

A few weeks without him being able to repair the seal himself, allowed the demon lord's soul to begin devouring again; giving the decrepit king power several times over what he had previously experienced. Seizing this moment, Ifrit in Len’s body incinerated the steel bars simply by moving his hand close to them. A quick turn around a close corner found several of the cult members holding crosses in fear, only to be met with cold, golden eyes and abyssal black flames as their final sight. However, as the bodies began to pile up, Len managed to muster enough control within his mind to kneel over them and bite into the flesh of one member, filling his mouth with blood from their final heartbeats. With a slow, strained gulp, the blood went into his system and slowly began repairing the seal on his wrist as it was absorbed into his body. With that, Ifrit was pushed completely out of his mind once again, giving control back to its rightful owner. Seeing the state of himself, and the church, he was forced to leave his home of several hundred years, deciding to travel across the world with his immortal body. The hope of meeting his family again someday driving him through whatever hardship he faced.
