PERSONALITY
Mallory comes off as very confident, which she is. She grew up around money and in school is known as one of the ‘popular’ girls. If there’s a party, she’s there, and she’s generally known as a flirt. Although it’s pretty easy to get her to flirt with you, getting her to commit is another story. She’s only been in a long term relationship once, she’ll insist that it’s because her standards are too high but in reality she has a hard time trusting that people won’t hurt or take advantage of her. Plus, Mallory has just never allowed herself to fall for someone in that way, for the most part the only close bonds she’s ever had have always been strictly friendships. However, if she does fall for someone, she falls hard. Mallory is a very passionate person and she knows this about herself, it’s one of the reasons why she’s so cautious. She’s a very independent person, although she has many friends at school she’s most often spotted by herself. Having never had to work for much in her life, she can be pretty impatient when she doesn’t get her way and isn’t always the most rational. However, she’s really kind and thoughtful once you get on her good side and will be loyal to the end for people she’s close with.

BACKGROUND
Mallory’s early childhood was surprisingly solitary, spent with various nanny’s since her parents were both always working and she and her older brother Drake didn’t get along at all. With her father being a highly regarded software engineer and her mother being a cardiac surgeon, the two had almost no time to spend with their children. This lack of warmth caused both Mallory and her older brother to develop some issues. While Drake’s tendencies were more violent, Mallory’s struggles seemed to happen internally. As a kid, Mallory was always teased and harassed by her older brother, and the treatment never really stopped even as she grew up to be a teacher. Sometimes he’d physically abuse her, and would often go out of his way to embarrass her whenever they were in public together. With her parents constantly gone and the nannies too scared of Drake to do anything, Mallory was left to fend for herself. Mallory learned that if she didn’t give Drake a reaction and pretended to be unbothered, he tended to leave her alone, so that became her strategy she used and kept with her for the rest of her life.

Mallory attended an elite private school from the time she was barely four years old, and her attitude quickly shifted to match the rest of the spoiled rich kids. She became oddly obsessed with her appearance even as a child, seeking control in weird ways such as cutting her hair by herself or mismatching her socks just so that she could stand out. Despite her search for some kind of control in her life, she came off as a pretty normal kid and was always socializing with everyone in her classes. In her freshman year of high school, she went through a phase where she box dyed her hair black, causing the teasing from her older brother to become relentless. With that, Mallory’s behavior became very odd and she started cutting classes to hide in odd places. This was when she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, and despite protests from her father, she started taking medication for it. For the remainder of her time at home, Drake was a little more cautious around her, but the damage was done and the pair of siblings were never able to create any sort of close bond at all.

In her senior year of high school, Mallory fell in love for the first time. Sean Bailey. He was an older, college guy who charmed her at a party, where they remained almost inseparable ever since. With no experience with any sort of intimacy, Mallory had fallen head first in what she believed would be the first and last relationship of her life. Unfortunately as time went on, the relationship became very toxic and abusive, Sean became incredibly controlling to the point where he wouldn’t allow her to see the majority of her friends. Still, she stuck by him, and was only able to bring herself to break up with him when she found out that he had been cheating on her for months. Heartbroken, Mallory swore never to let herself get hurt in that way again, and she found herself friendless since she had unintentionally ditched everyone else just to go out with Sean.

Once graduation came, going out of state for college was a no brainer for her. Her parents agreed to pay for everything, and she had begun to feel like there was nothing left for her in Boston. There, she fell into the party crowd and finally felt like she fit in. Although, there was always something off. Mallory had always had an addictive personality, but once she reached college her drinking habits seemed to spiral out of control. At this point, alcohol is often used as one of Mallory’s main coping habits with her anxiety, while most people would definitely say she has a problem she likes to think it’s just her way of destressing, having fun and taking the edge off. She hides this and the rest of her problems from the outside world well, but everyone’s secrets slip at some point, right?
