However it is this pursuit of glory which reveals his need for appreciation from others and most importantly his father. Valdid will often pursue forlorn glory in a way that defeat his own purpose. Yet, he counteracts these failings by being tenacious, out-spoken in his own defence and caring for those he sees below himself. To those who he feels rival himself, he shows very little mercy until they are completely defeated.

*Backstory*
Valdid is one of many offspring and heirs of the Lord of the West. Valdid never knew his mother. His half brother, Nazim, the heir apparent, is his greatest rival and Valdid hates him above all else. Valdid has had the best tutelage during his childhood. The Lord of the West brought abducted philosophers, artists, warriors and statesmen to train his offspring from across his vast empire. Valdid is quite gifted in the saddle and rose quickly through the ranks of cavalry generals until being gifted an army from his father. Valdid has since been campaigning towards and into the Kingdom of the Gold Horn, which he has heard rumours only has a singular heiress who is unmarried. Valdid is poised to spring his final move and seize the capital and prove he is his father's heir.
