Background:
Avalon is a high school junior that discovers her powers the same way pretty much all mutants do. By accident. Toward the end of the school year she becomes a victim to a school shooter that attacks the school because of the mutant students attending there. Dealing with a physical injury and the mental trauma of being a victim of a hate crime, she is taken under the care of Xavier being transferred to the school of gifted students going into her senior year. There, she deals with coping with her trauma and anger, learning how to control her powers, and even dealing with tempting offers like joining Magneto.
