Centuries ago Mages where forced to separate all the different species into their own worlds, hiding them from each other. This was done because of the war that was being wagged between the Elves and the Humans. The Elven king had grown mad and begun to attack all different races - mostly for no reason - wanting to rule them all, deeming him the one true king of the lands saying the gods came to him telling him so. Now the years have passed and the Old Mages are long gone and now their magic has begun to fade allowing the worlds to mash back together, everyone has forgotten about what the Old Mages did - the walls are unknown to them. The walls are slowly dissipating people have been rumored to be walking in the distance but when they are approached they disappear, on the horizon there have been trees and mountains that seem to move and disappear. A king as heard these rumors and now wants to explore these rumors, he sends men out to search these “moving” mountains and disappearing people.

If there is one thing that a royal court loves is to gossip and all when it's about the royal family -- it makes it all that much more desirable. One of their favorites subjects to whisper about was the Duke of Ither, the only brother to the king and next in line for the throne. The man one day returning to the castle found a infant, he never went into the details with anyone other than his brother. Without a second thought he took the child in even when they found out that it wasn't a human but a demon the Duke refused to turn the child out. Instead he adopted the babe and took care of them, raising them to be his heir. Against all the wishes of the royal cabinet the King even took the child under his wing accepting the demon as his own as well allowing. For the most part they Duke remains with his child away from the court staying within is his own lands but now that they are a teenager, he finds it cruel to keep them away. During the new years ball he decides its time for them to return to court.

War - An always present issue in the world. For hundreds of years these 2 nations have fought one another for reasons they can no longer remember. The fighting has destroyed the lands, ruined families, killed thousands and more. Realizing the need for peace to have any hope for a future, the Kings of the nations have decided to marry their children. It is the only way to show their people that they are willing to fix all the wrong that they have done.

Spirits have roamed the earth for hundreds of years. Even before man did, it was when man came to be that they turned to the shadows for cover. Every few years though children are born, they are born with a gift - they can communicate with the spirits, they do not like this and believe that the power to do so should not belong to man. To keep peace between them, the mortals give them the children. No one knows what happens to them, they are unsure if they kill or raise them, they are scared to ask. With a guardian they are escorted to the mountain where the Spirits allow them to trespass.
