Backstory: There are many hunters in the world. Hunters that focus on Witches, Monsters, Vampires, and Demons.

But few are capable of hunting creatures from the void, that crawl through the rifts between worlds. That seek to corrupt whatever they can, and slowly deteriorate the barrier between worlds.

Void Hunters are the reason this has not been successful. Hunters who meld their souls with demonic beings in order to wage war against the otherworldly, for both mortal and immortal alike are threatened by their existence.

Elves are ideal for the process, their already long lifespan in made significantly longer due to the presence of a demon within their body, in addition their natural inclination towards magic gives them a much higher chance of surviving the process then other races

Aithlin Royra was a victim of the Order. Like many Orphans, he was adopted with the purpose of being melded into a void hunter. First, the body must be at peak physical condition, meaning years of endless exercise and training. Then the spirit must be molded into a conduit for the Arcane, and finally, a piece of that very spirit is to be severed to make room for half another.

Many die during this ritual, and some view this as a mercy. Those who survive are little more then weapons, with the sole purpose of eradicating the Void.
