I've been roleplaying since the beginning of my college days. In any case, it feels good to step out of the matrix once in a while and remember who I am. After all, without the player, there is no roleplay, the player is just as, or I daresay, more important than the character itself.
From experience, I've learned that roleplay can be both a blessing and a curse, a source of creativity, or a burden of obsession. Oftentimes I've crossed paths with those who roleplay on social media platforms in attempts to escape the unhappiness of their lives, and in turn, becomes their sole identity.
I've learned this lesson once, and I don't intend to make the same mistake twice. Rather, I wish to roleplay to create stories to inspire others to live their lives and gain inspiration from that which they have lived to write their own tales.
It's important to remember there is more to life; that you are more than your obsession.
