Years had gone by since she had traveled with The Doctor & Martha had got on with her life. But it had not gone as smoothly as she had hoped.
Her marriage to Mickey Smith had been great but slowly little cracks started to appear & why? Because her heart still belonged to The Doctor. After trying & failing to repair her marriage, they split & divorced. Martha went back to her maiden name & her old job at The Royal Hope Hospital.
It was while she was working there that The Doctor walked back into her life. No longer using the name John Smith as his human cover, he now goes under the name Detective Inspector Alec Hardy & works for the Police. He asks Martha to take a break as he needs to speak to her.
As they talk Martha learns that The Doctor realised that he was in love with her so came back to find her! He asks her to forgive him, which she does.
Over time, they become friends then lovers with Martha even becoming his fiancé! Life is great & Martha is the happiest she has ever felt until one day she wakes up to find that The Doctor had gone again.
Alone & confused, Martha wants answers but will The Doctor return for her again? And if he does will Martha like what she hears?
