Lore and Character Introduction

Ashes of the Old World

Across the uncharted Elder sea at the end of the Earth lay Elysium, the last remaining piece of the old world. All kinds of mysterious non-human lifeforms only found in legends lived there. So far from the known world that none of the dwellers there ever expected something to disrupt their peace. So it was a surprise to all to see a huge royal armada of humans approaching from the foggy waters one morning a century ago.

King Andreus Richard Pendragon was an ambitious monarch who claimed himself to be a descendant of the ancient God of the sun. He was obsessed with the legends of Elysium, claiming that his mother was a fae princess from there and the monarchy of Elysium was rightfully his. So one day he led his forces to a months long great voyage to find the land of the fae and claim his birthright. The peaceful denizens of the land were not prepared for such an invasion. So much blood was spilled on the shore of the Elder sea on that day that the water turned red. The sea was renamed the Sanguine sea after to honour the fallen. The king's forces quickly gained a foothold on Elysium and waged wars against all the other races who wouldn’t submit to the imperial rule. The denizens kept on fighting hard for generations but the imperialistic ambition was ingrained in the king's bloodline and a century later, the Pendragon monarchy had conquered most of the old world. However, pockets of rebellions still persisted and new ones rose up. But they were always swiftly dealt with, with overwhelming might.

A Stalwart Heart

Adonis Edward Pendragon, prince of Storm's End was the third son of Emperor Godwyn Pendragon. Being the last born son, he was never meant to inherit the throne after his father. So he was brought up as a warrior and a soldier instead so he could command the imperial armies. His mother died young and Adonis was sent to a military academy when he was 12. The boy spent 7 years there learning all possible strategies, arts of war and weaponry. Once he was an adult, he began commanding the imperial troops to battlefields at the emperor's behest, gaining unprecedented success.

Now he was in his mid twenties, standing 6 feet 2 inches tall. An intimidating yet respectful figure to his friends and foes alike. His sharp facial features, long blond hair, golden eyes, eyelashes and eyebrows were the signature traits of his bloodline, rumored to be the reminiscent of the old God Anor. A black tattoo decorated his back across his shoulders, containing the Latin words 'Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat'. Another tattoo of a small dark sun decorated his chest, above his heart, contrast to the bright, golden sun insignia of the empire. Years spent at the academy and on the battlefields had left the man a bit rough around the edges. Which was why he could get somewhat paranoid and aggressive at times. Because of his usually quiet and brooding persona, he gained some mocking monikers like 'The Sun's Shadow' and 'Prince of Eclipse' among the public. But he had a loyal and courageous heart with a great sense of duty.
