BACKSTORY:
The Empire has had a long continuous linage for almost 10,000,000 years. It leans towards a Mathriachy with the Empress being sort of considered a kind of god for religious purposes.

The last Empress had died unexpectedly in an accident, making her husband the acting Emperor for the next 40 years. He can't sit on the throne but still handles the politics. The husband couldn't remarry for traditional and political reasons and the throne is strictly for daughters on mother's side. But there aren't any suitable candidates to continue to lineage.

So, a ticking time bomb that would result in a power vacuum was inevitable. Different noble houses were waiting for the Emperor to eventually die of old age. So one of them can become the new royal family though a potential civil war

However, a potential candidate was eventually found when religious leaders searched through old records in desperation. What they found was that the previous Empress had slept with a slave over 50 years ago during a war. At the time, the princess hid the pregnancy and left the baby to a slave family and never came back. That baby grew up and eventually had a daughter.

The daughter was given the name Nuli. And she's the dead Empress' granddaughter

Bio: Catori grew up in the thick rainforest. The nomadic tribe was all of her species of felines. As the last remaining survivor of her tribe, she was given 10 million dollars in compensation. Most went into repairing the rainforest herself and maintaining a patch of her tribe's territory.

She still lives alone in her tribe's land, though she welcomes outside tourists and researchers. Part of her tribe's land is partially developed with a single inn she owns to house tourist and researchers. She would occasionally teach magic to outsides for a price or produce tribal goods to trade.
