did that title catch your eye? i sure hope so.

if you don’t know anything about it, that’s cool because i know the surface-level lore. here’s a quick summary: these huge creatures start to emerge from the sea named Kaiju and they are not friendly. humans create mechas, Jaegers, to duke it out with the Kaiju. The Jaegers are controlled by two pilots united in the Drift, which is a neural connection of sorts between the pilots. In the movies, the Jaegers do the job until the Kaiju start to grow stronger.

i will be honest and say maybe my writing for action scenes will be iffy, but i would like to explore the concept of “wow i need to be completely vulnerable with this person if i don’t want the rest of humanity to perish”.

could be a character that wants nothing to do with the Jaegers because their last co-pilot died during the last attack or maybe one that is overeager and doesn’t understand the horrors of it all. man, we could even have characters that simply work on the base.
