Rookie policewoman gets outed

Fresh out of detective school, I get to participate in raids as a normal looking citizen on the street with a wire so I can communicate what is going on from my location. The veterans go in and conduct the raid on the establishment.
I can take off my wire and go home. I live only a few blocks away so I decide to walk home after my wire is turned off instead of wasting time going back to the precinct just to change clothes.
Before I get home there are a couple guys doing suspicious activity I try to whisper into my wire, forgetting it's turned off when one spots what I'm doing. Soon there is a gun in my face.
