REMRoleplay - Jul 23rd 2019 17:30

This is a reboot and continuation of the roleplay, Creatures Among Us, originally started by Bratzela. Here's the story so far:

The story starts in a land where humans and mythos are separated. Humans hunt the mythos for their unique features like a pegasus' wings or kitsune's ears. Mythos have to fight back, defend themselves. Though some only like the taste of blood. It's a mess. The whole world is stuck in a constant fight. That is, until a certain human comes into the mix.

Jaigr, a normal human, met with a mytho. A pegasus named Ceris. Surprisingly, the mytho wasn't scared of Jaigr. Then Mareike came. The kitsune didn't trust any human. She emerged from the trees, aiming a bow at Jaigr thinking he was trying to hurt the pegasus. Jaigr was eventually able to convince Mareike he would do no harm by showing his connection to nature and the mythos. You see, Jaigr learned magic. The rare talent that had seemed to have died out. Jaigr was now the only human who could use magic.

The three traveled back through the forest toward Mareike's village when they were intercepted by hunters. Luckily, they were able to fight them off. Jaigr finishing the fight by summoning a massive wave, washing the hunters away. Mareike had been hurt and Jaigr was very weak so they continued their way to the village so they could be healed.

They got to the village, they regained their strength and for a few days, they lived in peace in the village. Then the hunters returned, now with many more men. They raided the village, destroying everything and taking many kitsune. Mareike, Jaigr and Ceris were able to fight them off, though at a cost. Mareike was so close to death. Jaigr had killed for the first time, spearing a hunter to protect Mareike and Ceris had been taken. Once they recovered, which, Jaigr never fully did, they headed out to find the hunter camp and get Ceris back.

The fight was long and hard, but in the end, they came out on top. Jaigr and Mareike were able to free Ceris and other mythos and with the help of a wolf pack, they were able to defeat Meliodas, the leader of the camp. Unfortunately, Jaigr started suffering from a small case of PTSD. All the traumatising events built up over time eventually became too overwhelming. But it wasn't over.

The small group moved on. The kitsune village was being rebuilt, and now without the threat of Meliodas and his hunters, the kitsunes felt safe. But that was only the beginning.

Another hunter camp lay a little while away from the first. But this one, was much, much bigger. It was the king of all hunter camps, led by Talon. The fight with this camp started when Mareike was taken and brainwashed by the camp's healer, Onurick. This was what drove Jaigr over the edge. He'd grown so close to Mareike and now she was trying to kill him. Eventually, Jaigr and Ceris were both captured and Mareike was still in her hypnotic state.

When all seemed lost, the griffons came. A large group of griffons raided the hunter camp. They couldn't destroy the actual camp but were able to rescue Jaigr, Ceris and Mareike and take them back to their floating island. Jaigr was completely suffering from PTSD at this point and was barely responsive. Mareike was still magically brainwashed and Ceris was injured pretty badly.

Noxuma, a mytho connected to nature, came to the rescue. She used her unique abilities to free Mareike and to somewhat help Jaigr. He was responsive at least. The griffons planned to attack and end the hunter camp once and for all. Mareike wanted to help and Jaigr knew what he had to do to help but refused to tell anyone for they'd definitely try to stop him.

The time came when the attack would take place. The griffons flew everyone back down to the camp. Mareike and Ceris joined the fight. Jaigr stayed back. At this point, Onurick was conflicted as to which side he was on. On one hand, mythos killed the only person who brought him joy, his wife, but on the other hand, he didn't think any creature should have to suffer as the mythos had.

In the end, Jaigr used all the magic he could to harness the power of the elements and completely wipe out the hunters. He had a face off with Talon and won though only at his own cost. Mareike and Onurick, surprisingly, tried to stop him but it was too late. Jaigr used up all his power, his hair turned white from strain and white marks started appearing on his face like cracks in a brick when under too much pressure. The hunter camp had been destroyed, but at the cost of Jaigr's life.

Mareike was destroyed. Onurick showed the signs of grief and later revealed he was, in fact, Jaigr's father. Onurick remembered how he'd lost his wife to mythos and thought he'd lost his son too, but once he saw Jaigr, he had hope. The mage wasn't willing to lose anyone else. So, he placed his hands on Jaigr and poured all his healing power into the boy. It hurt, but it was worth it. Jaigr's heart started again. He was alive, still with the white hair and marks, but alive.

It's up to here that the story continues. The plan is, Onurick and Jaigr will continue to rid the world of hunters and find peace with mythos once and for all. They could meet mythos and/or humans on the way who decide to help them.

Note: Ceris was played by Bratzela and Mareike was played by LadyVixen. I don't know if they're still interested but if they are, you're welcome to continue the story with us.

(Braztela, I forgot to mention, I had to make up an ending to the previous story so we could start fresh on a new one instead of trying to finish the old one so Ceris would be free, the hunter camp is destroyed and they're now going out to try and bring peace between humans and mythos. Sorry, forgot to say that earlier)

(Sorry, I'm not great with starters)

It hadn't been too long since the fight occurred. The one that ended the lead hunter's camp, ended all the pain and suffering of the creatures who were kept there. Strange thing is... Jaigr doesn't remember any of it. As far back as meeting Ceris and Mareike, Jaigr's memory flashes with nothing but darkness. He remembers Ceris and Mareike and even Onurick, but the events are all gone. Either way, Jaigr knows what their next step is.

Jaigr stood at the edge of the camp. The camp that now looked as if multiple plates of the Earths crust had risen from the ground, piercing through the tents and buildings. In fact, that was exactly what happened, Jaigr just didn't remember. Anyway, his back was turned to the destruction and faced the path they'd soon be following to find others who needed their help. His newly coloured, white hair blew in soft wind. The good thing about losing your memories, is you no longer remember the trauma.

Jaigr looked up at Onurick, took a moment, then responded,
"I... don't know. Somewhere," Jaigr responded. He stepped a little closer to the mage. He didn't quite know exactly what to think of Onurick. From what he was told, since he couldn't remember, the mage used to be a hunter used for healing and sometimes hypnotism. But then he revealed himself as Jaigr's father and saved his life. Jaigr just decided to forget Onurick's hunter past, which wasn't hard.
"We should find more camps. We need to help more mythos." Jaigr said, looking to Onurick for some sign of approval.

Jaigr waited purposefully for someone to say something. Honestly, he was kind of afraid. He couldn't remember anything from his past and now he had to continue the work he had supposedly done.
"O-okay. I guess we should... start walking," Jaigr said nervously, stepping forward slightly before turning back to Onurick and Ceris,
"Anyone want to lead?" the human asked, gesturing forward with one hand. Maybe someone should lead who actually knew everything that had happened and who knew what they might be looking for.

(Yep, that's good. You'll just have to find a way for her to meet the others.)

Jaigr nodded to Onurick, then turned to Ceris,
"You ready? I mean, you don't have to come... if it's too painful that is," he said, making sure it didn't sound like was forcing her along. He'd heard of what had happened to her and felt bad he couldn't remember it all. Jaigr waited for her response, whispering a few words under his breath. A little bit of magic to allow the human and mytho to communicate. Even Jaigr had lost his memory of the events, he could still remember the magic.
