June 22, 2028.

It's been just over a month since the virus began to spread. Most are either dead or infected. The rest are survivors. Struggling to stay alive as society continues to collapse and the government is no more. The leading research team were exposed to the virus recently and have since become infected and torn one another apart, leaving the laboratory a bloody mess, their research, and test subjects remaining locked away within n the facility.

It's . . . It's bad. . .Anybody who comes into direct skin to skin contact with the infected, contract the virus themselves. They go insane and become violent. It's almost like a zombie apocalypse but this is so much worse. These are still living people. They are intelligent and keen and strong and they still feel pain and emotions. I've watched them, seen how they act. They are desperate. And afraid. I think that's why they kill. It's what they do. They attack and kill any living thing they see. It's aweful.

Plot: basically a deadly virus has spread to most of the population. It spreads via direct skin to skin contact and within 3 days of getting infected the victim will show symptoms such as: dizziness, fatigue, agitation, irritability, sensitivity to loud sounds and chronic headaches. Victims loose control of their ability to refine emotions and become extremely paranoid, violent and agressive. The infected try to kill all living things and won't stop until they die themselves. Between one and two weeks after becoming ng infected the victims become increasingly tired and often start to refuse food and water and eventually will become too weak to move at all as the virus eats away at their brain. Most die within 3 weeks of getting infected. There is currently no cure though a few teams are working on it. That's it. Just try to survive.

Name: Soul J. Woulfe (Changing the name a bit to seem a bit more... Namey)

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Status: Survivor

Appearance: Soul is 6'2, with pale skin. His eyes are an average blue, and hair is blonde, dyed white. Being a lab assistant and self-taught researcher, he often is found in a grey shirt of sorts with a white lab coat and dark pants. From time to time he'll wear a pair of glasses, especially when working on his studies.

Personality: He typically is always eager to help and to learn. He can grow protective over those hurt and will put them at a higher priority. When angered, he'll act a though playing it off cool while also being very passive aggressive.

Backstory: With his father being a biochemist, Soul was always exposed to lab paperwork. From time to time, he would join his father in a lab just to observe. At the age of 15 he began assisting his father and studying more science classes alongside his normal classes. By the age of 16, his schooling was interrupted by the death of his parents and the outbreak of the virus. Afterwards, with his prior knowledge, he joined up with a small group of researchers and acted as a collector of sorts for materials and subjects for testing. At the age of 18, his entire group had either been infected or killed by each other. He took what he could while the lab was empty and fled. With the materials he grabbed, he created a custom blade which reacted with tainted blood to form into a larger weapon.

It was getting dark, the last few rays of sunlight dying off as the sun sank below the horizon leaving the land in shadow, lit only by distant fires and the moon's soft, uneasy white glow. The lab was a large, three story building and the entire third floor was lined with row after row of kennel like cages, spaces only about six by four feet, each with thick bullet proof glass walls and a passcode based lock to keep the door firmly shut. Trapping hundreds of test subjects. Nearly all of which were dead or dying. All of them were infected. A number tattooed on their inner right wrist and the right side of their neck. They had been used to work towards a cure. But once the virus took over the lab, the white coats had all killed one another. And so now the remaining test subjects had been trapped without food or water or any sort of care for nearly a week.

The fowl scent of death hung thick in the air and the rooms to either side of Clarissa contained only rotting corpses. Clary herself partially lay down as she leaned against the glass wall, her head down, messy, tangled hair curling around her face and clinging to her pale almost skin almost a sickly grey color, her fragile frame curled in on itself as she lay unmoving aside from the rise and fall of her chest with labored breaths. Being dehydrated, half starved and stuck in a small, filthy area with very little ventilation had taken it's toll on her. But even as she was, even though she wouldn't last much longer like this. She sang. In a broken, raspy voice she sang a soft melody. A child's lullaby.

Soul, weapon in hand, snuck into the laboratory for a few more materials. He would do this until all supplies were moved into an underground lab he had made for himself. He was about to grab some sealed flasks until he heard soft singing coming from the floor above him. The poor boy had never defended himself before, but if he wanted to go off and explore, he would have to. He made his way up the stairs. Upon entering the floor, he caught sight of a very agitated scientist, whose white coat was stained with blood. It was pacing, deciding whether or not to open the cell and kill the female.

"They're only sensitive to loud sounds." He thought and pulled a pen out of his front pocket. On the inside of his forearm he wrote; "Prolonged silence=sensitivity to sound. Agitation increased." Outside there were birds, wolves, coyotes, even. But inside, the walls blocked out that sound. There were only the sounds of your own shoes clacking on the tiles.

Soul pulled out a large plastic bag of what looked like blood with darker flecks in it. He dipped his blade into the blood mixture. All of the flecks stuck to the blade, and the blood became as light as an apple, all of the iron fusing with the blade. The blade grew to the size of a short sword, breaking the bag.

The sound of the blood splattering to the ground caused the infected to turn sharply. It began to stride to the stairway, it's breathing becoming more ragged as it grew more angrier. With a small anguished cry of fear, Soul plunged the blade into the scientist's chest and began to move it wildly to free it from its sternum.

The infected tried to grab at Soul, but his gloves and long sleeved coat protected him from begin touched. He kicked the infected away and huffed, watching as it tried to stop the bleeding and attack once more. It looked like some dramatic death scene; the dying clutching their chest in agony while reaching out to the other. Soul shivered and began to check on the subjects. Watching them attempt to get up only to fall due to weakness was heartbreaking. He put a hand up to the glass of a door and sighed. "I'm sorry. I don't have anything today."

The others that were still alive snarled and scratched at the glass attempting to get to the survivor. But when the male stopped in front of Clary and put his hand to the glass she glanced up, her brown eyes dull and her smile warm. She lifted a hand and put it up to the glass as well, continuing to sing. It was a song and it resting easy and knowing that you're safe. It was promise that those who heard it would wake up tomorrow and things would get better. But she stopped as she went into a coughing fit, her breathing still labored.

On each door a clip board with the subject's files hung. Some neatly in order, other strewn about the floor. Clarissa's files were still there, only one or two papers missing. It had her number and age and status written on it. And where all the others said infected. Hers read 'carrier.' there were several notes and pages of information about her. Her reactions and the tests run on her. She had the virus. But she was immune to it. She was the first patient. The number on her file and on her skin was 001.
