“Caution to the Snow”

One squabble between two stubborn children can lead to a lifetime of hate and dislike, grudges that last forever. One petty argument led to Muse A and B hating each other from the playgrounds to the classroom. One they can’t even remember.

But years have passed since then, the two now in highschool, going opposite paths from one another, nothing but distance and animosity keeping them relatively close.

However this year, this year is a little different. A phenomenon has washed over their town, one soon to be known as the eternal winter.

Muse A happened to be out and about with their younger sibling, attempting to escape their less than satisfactory home life for even for a couple of hours but they underestimated the cold. Lost in a storm with frostbite setting in, things are not looking too good.

Muse B’s parent has been in the hospital for quite some time. Wanting to escape the loneliness of an empty house, they themselves venture out into the cold, but before long they run into their dear old friend Muse A and their sibling.

Putting petty differences aside Muse B helps A and their sibling back to their own, sheltering the two for a few days. The days the two spend with one another are surprisingly pleasant ones.

However all good things must come to an end as Muse A must return home. And weeks later school is starting up again forcing Muse A and B to have to deal with the reality of their strange vacation and even stranger feelings.
