My oc Fritjöf is like a merman, but he's part eel.
Your oc lives in a small seaside town. They grew up hearing stories about mermaids that hide from humans. The stories say that they're shy and afraid of humans. But most people think these are just stories and mermaids aren't real.
Fritjöf is a frequent customer at wherever your oc works. (Coffee shop? Flower shop? Music shop? Idk)
Your oc kinda likes Fritjöf, but he's quiet, so he's hard to talk to.
Then one day your oc is at the beach, at a quiet part away from other people. They swim further out and see Fritjöf, so they go towards him.
Then they see Fritjöf's tail. He's fully in merman form. What your oc doesn't know is that mermaids are more primal than you'd expect in this form.
Fritjöf is aggressive and immediately attacks your oc, nearly drowning him.
Your manages to get away, but both of them get away with scrapes and bruises.

The next day, Fritjöf shows up again at your oc's shop, acting like nothing happened. He doesn't remember attacking your oc.
