The Mane Event

SchemingWeasel replied to Spade's topic

*Lime looks towards the halls with uncertainty. It really isn't his place to intervene but... Right now arguing isn't going to help matters. He sighs, choosing to head down the hallway to talk to the two. If anything to help gain back some sense of normality.*

*Dizzy looks away from everyone as he does so, feeling guilty for all that she's caused. She doesn't regret telling Stripes about what's really going on, he had a right to know, but she still feels upset that it caused so much of a negative reaction.*

An una-VOID-able meeting

SchemingWeasel replied to Spade's topic

*Tom hesitates but after considering Outer's words for a moment, he nods.*

Tom: Okay...

---

*Briar offers a haphazard shrug, they're not too worried about it by the looks.*

*Crystal cheers, heading over to a cabinet and beginning to rifle through it.*

Fiji: This all... Would be so much easier... If you just let me do it myself.

*He grits his teeth, closing his eyes against the pain and the now building tremors of anxiety. There's no way he'll die right? He couldn't have bled out that much in this time. There's no way. He's seen far worst, he's cured far worse. This is just a scratch. But he's still afraid of the small possibilities that it /is/ worse than it looks. That he /could/ die. He can feel every cell in his body burning. There's no way he could die from this. Right?*

Fiji: If you had just given me my kit... I could have already fixed it myself.

---

*Rose sighs to herself but looks somewhat relieved to find even ground with Hemlock.*

Rose: It's... complicated. He was mostly fine when we got back. Same old grumpy man we're used to. He's different now though, paranoid, violent even. I wasn't even aware he /had/ attack magic until now. I'm not sure /he/ even knew about it. If he hadn't hurt himself out there, I'm sure he'd still be giving everyone hell.

*Rose glances back to where Fell vanished with worry.*

Rose: Fiji has... A great capacity to hurt but not to actually, intentionally harm. By mistake perhaps but he just doesn't strike me as an individual who could will himself to intentionally hurt someone, even if he were tired... That's why I said broken. It's as if someone here has done something awful to him.

---

*Lieu looks to Blinker after following Captain's gaze, seemingly a little optimistic of the feline.*

Lieu: Well... They Haven't Stolen My Ingredients Or Pushed Over Any Of My Things So They Seem Like A Good, Very Not Annoying Anomaly To Me! Mweh!

*As Lieu laughs characteristically and leans across to pet the strange feline, Sheep walks back over again from the list and frowns, speaking under his breath to Captain.*

Sheep: Where did he go? Papyrus, I mean.

An una-VOID-able meeting

SchemingWeasel replied to Spade's topic

*Tom can somewhat vividly remember Outer and his encounters with them. He trusts them at least, which is a lot for him to admit, even if he's nervous at the sight of someone other than Gaster around. He gives a nod though, trying to suppress his anxiousness as Grell re-enters the room and leans against the doorframe.*

Tom: okay... But... But only a look. Please don't do anything that'd hurt. *He glances away timidly.* If- If that's okay...

---

*Briar nods and points to a door.*

Briar: Sorry, I really wish I could do it myself. I'm still learning how to manipulate the material plane. *They scratch the back of their head awkwardly.* If I had my body, this would be easy but... I'm still pretty new to the "whole being dead thing".

*Crystal, who had been fixated between the gathering, tugs Fell's trouser leg.*

Crystal: Can I help? Can I help, dad?

---

*Paige, feeling the tenseness of the situation, lowers her voice to whisper to Hemlock.*

Paige: Aunt Hemlock, I think we should go... If she gets hurt it could cause a domino effect that could hurt mom. Please don't make her our enemy.

*Rose frowns, still bearing her weapon but not moving to use it. She doesn't like the deity's tone. God or not, respect needs to be earned and this being reminds her of the same royal suitors, councils and advisors she dealt with as a child. The same ones who earned their place only through heritage and a shared hatred for monsters. Only this time, she doesn't just plan on smiling and playing the perfect princess.*

Rose: Why are you here. You're not injured... Have you hurt Fiji? Try not to lie, I'll know if you are.

*Paige steps around Hemlock placatingly as Rose's tone turns mocking, quickly jumping in to de-escalate the situation.*

Paige: We mean no harm. I'm Paige, scribe of the multiverse. I swear we're not here to hurt you, we came here to see my mother who was hurt. Your doctor, Fiji helped her and I'm eternally grateful for his aid.

*Rose seems to relax a lot at this, her scarf shifts back to silk and she begins to wrap it back around her neck.*

Rose: Your mother is hurt? That explains Briar's statement...

Paige: *Shaking her head.* She was but I don't think she is any longer. Fiji helped cure her. We're not a danger to you. I, for certain, wouldn't harm anyone here.

*Rose nods.*

Rose: I'm Rose. I'm sorry for being so defensive, everyone is welcome here. Only, my family are here and Fiji is not himself. With all that has happened recently, I worried you were anomalies or something else here to harm us.

Paige: That's understandable. I've seen and written accounts of all that has happened and can understand your mistrust. You haven't let your guard down in a while. I'm sorry we came across as a threat to you.

*Rose nods in understanding, sighing tiredly.*

Rose: I don't suppose you know what's happened for Fiji to have snapped recently? Not to say you're to blame but if you've been here and you write on all that happens, you might have seen something Briar hadn't.

*Paige winces. She has an inkling she knows why but she's afraid to admit. She chooses to lie, only partially, but she refuses to look anywhere near Hemlock when she does.*

Paige: My mother put up a ward that blocked viewing of Fiji for a while, she didn't want me to see him heal her as she was worried it would upset me. She would never intentionally hurt him. I'm not sure why he would act irrationally, though he hasn't properly slept in a long time according to my records, likely days. He's probably suffering from the effects of that. I've seen other mortal beings, even the most pacifist, use violence when facing extreme fatigue.

Rose: I... I suppose...

*She sighs, a little upset but taking this information in. Trying to process that it really could just be a normal issue and not a supernatural event, even if certain parts struck her as odd. Fiji has the capacity to be angry but... She'd have never thought of him as violent until now. It does change her perception of him and on whether he is or isn't safe to have in a place of healing...*

*Paige swallows hard, still avoiding Hemlock's gaze. She feels like she's on a pedestal right now.*

---

*Celaeno understands this but only gives a small nod, looking aside. They don't make a move towards the list, instead, he quietly grumbles to himself and leaves the room.*

*Sheep mutters something quietly in disbelief, shaking his head and heading over to the list.*

Sheep: I'll write it down. Maybe it'd cheer him up. I don't think someone like him would willingly adopt something healthier.

*Papyrus stands and stretches lazily like a cat fresh out of a spot of sun under a window. He heads towards the door sluggishly, slouched over as usual.*

Lieu: Brother? Where Are You Going?

Papyrus: Just for a walk, I'll be back in time for food of course. Too much laying around, y'know? You always say it'll cause my bones to all fuse.

Lieu: Oh. I Do Say That! I'm Glad You're Using Your Initiative, Papyrus! This Is Your First Step To Royal Guard Fitness And I Couldn't Be Prouder!

*Papyrus smirks before he slips out the door.*

Papyrus: Thanks, Bro. I'll Get There One Day.

An una-VOID-able meeting

SchemingWeasel replied to Spade's topic

*Around the same. No better, no worse. Though they are quite closely huddled to Max and find comfort in being near to the blaster.*

---

Briar: M... Me?

*They look excited for a moment to have been asked for help but then they see Fiji and grimace, suddenly regretting showing their eagerness to help so clearly.*

Briar: Yikes. That's going to need stitches. I... I can't help that.

*They wave their hands in a moment of panic, the lights flickering for a split second.*

Briar: I don't have control enough to! I can tell you where things are and tell you how to do things to help it out but if you're going to ask /me/ to stitch it, I can't. Controlling items in the physical plane takes a lot of energy and normally a lot of anger. Without a whole lot of anger, I accidentally drop and throw things... And normally things end up broken or people hurt in either case.

*Fiji groans, struggling again despite his low energy and new pain. Crystal looks confused.*

Fiji: Exactly. Fell, put me down. Everyone is useless. Let me sort myself out and then I'll sort all of you morons out.

*Rose frowns, her scarf shifting to thorns.*

Rose: With all due respect, this is a pretty small community and I have NEVER seen either of you before. It's only logical to assume that the total strangers that have appeared might have something to do with whatever supernatural issue is going on with our friend. Especially given that the issue has only cropped up since we all got back AND you're one of the only ones whose been hiding in here other than him.

*She places herself between the deities and any others in the infirmary.*

Rose: I ask again. Who are you.

---

*Celaeno frowns to himself, muttering.*

Celaeno: [Interesting... Very interesting... Perhaps my seperation from my... World is written into the fates of all my alternate identities... I suppose someone as scientifically ingenious as myself would be doomed to a punishment so drastic no matter the universe.]

*Sheep huffs, thinking back to the time he got his first stuck in a jar of peanut butter.*

Sheep: Sure... Scientific ingenious...

*Celaeno snaps back to the conversation quickly though, looking disgusted and offended at Captain.*

Celaeno: [Dog treats? Dog treats?! What do you take me for?! I am NOT a pet mutt, 1-S, and you should hold your tongue from such insults.]

*Sheep frowns, flinching at the wording. He's put on edge immediately, especially by the use of "1-S" which reminds him of the naming conventions he's used in the past. He sends Celaeno a glare and although the skeleton continues to fume and mumble, they largely quiet down.*

Sheep: He is... Not happy about the idea of dog treats.

*He refuses to translate the entire spiel, he doesn't want Captain to hear of it, though he definitely looks wary. Papyrus has bristled too and is suddenly wide awake.*

The Mane Event

Lime: I don't know? It's not like they have on and off switches.

*Lime buries his face in his hoof for a moment then he sighs and looks aside. He's stressed. He doesn't want to snap, even if it looks like he's about to, but it definitely looks like he's struggling to keep on top of everything right now.*

Lime: Let's just put them away and then... I don't know. We'll just think about all this later. There's too much else going on right now to start planning for who knows when.
