Desktop Notifications would be nice!

It's a little hard to communicate with people when I can't really tell when they message me. Yes I know the notifications are sent via email, but it's a hassle to check my email inbox more often than should be necessary. (And personally, 80% of the time, I don't get email notifications anyways.) If this site sent desktop notifications like other sites and apps do, I'd be pretty happy. It's not a huge issue I guess- but I think it would be really helpful.
