The Gratis Kingdom, one with their bold red colors and their flag made of the same color with a dragon's head as a gold color to represent their kingdom, has been in the land of Escros and survived for centuries. King Alan has ruled it with rather nicely, tending to the peasants and dealing with any problems that are in the nation. However, war always loomed on the horizon with the neighboring Vuriean kingdom. His Majesty was a young ruler at the time that Asher was born.

Asher was born into a peasant family, his farmer who was a farmer and a brave protector of the small village they lived in, while his mother died when he was born into the world. Though his father lost the love of his life, he knew that she had died for their son--the newest love of his life in a father/son relationship. Asher grew up with his older brother, Gryff, who was a cocky arsehole sort of like him but he was definitely more full of himself then Asher would ever be. Gryff would pick on his younger brother frequently, and thus quarrels would occur either vocally or physically. Their father didn't have time to mess with them as he had to do his job as a farmer, and so he had to let these fights occur and ignore them. Gryff was always the victor, beating Asher to the ground before laughing and describing just how great he is. Asher had a tutor as well as his brother, but Asher's tutor saw the potential in him. His tutor saw that Asher would grow to be a fine, courageous man who was far more intelligent than most.

Asher would hear stories of legendary warriors, and began his hard journey of learning how to become a fierce commander and show to himself, his brother, and his father that he was so much more than one anybody could originally imagine. He began to read books about battles and learn the tactics, he would practice his swordsmanship by using a crafted wooden sword and swing it at trees, and he often practiced handling pain by fighting with his brother. These would help him be a successful warrior, and be one who would stand out to His Majesty when he became a worthy man.

When Asher became eighteen, he joined the military and patiently waited for the moment that he would be recognized. His brother, Gryff, even joined him and decided to keep being a jerk to him in the army. Despite his brother, Asher remained honorable. Luckily, a rebellion broke out during this time from a violent Lord, and Asher proved himself to be a remarkable soldier during the battles. However, during the final battle which took place at the town of Fallcreek, Asher was forever changed.

At the battle for Fallcreek against the rebels, Asher was already a captain and was ever so closer to being seen by the king. He just had to win this battle along with the army, and surely he would be noticed. The Gratis army charged through the iron gates of the town, which were oddly open, but as they began fighting the rebels, the gates suddenly shut and more rebels ran out from their hiding spots and attacked the men within the town. A bloodbath occurred, and Asher was greatly wounded by the rebels, but nothing could beat him down or stop him until he saw the one who allowed this ambush to happen. Gryff grinned, walking to Asher and slicing through some of the Gratis kingdom's soldiers to get to him. His brother was a traitor, and though he hated him, he still didn't enjoy the thought of having to kill him. It was like the soldiers and rebels forgot about them as they fought each other, while Gryff and Asher stared at each other. Gryff told him: "It's time you stay down for good, little brother." The fight began, and Gryff appeared to be victorious when he shoved his longsword through the center of Asher's chest and he collapsed to the muddy ground. But, as Gryff celebrated and cheered for himself, turning his back on him, Asher slowly got up and rammed his blade through Gryff's neck, in which he whispered in his ear: "This time, older brother, I win." With that, Gryff was dead, and the gates were busted opened and the battle was won as the rest of the Gratis army charged in.

Afterwards, and recovering from his wounds, Asher was seen by the King as made commander of the kingdom's army. Asher has never been so proud in his life, though the battle of Fallcreek still haunts him as various scars cover his body. He will never forget his brother even when he really wants to. Now, Asher is thirty four and still commander of the Gratis military. He has shown off his skills against a war against Vuriean, and won. Though, the war is over, and Asher is still preparing for the next battle. One day, he knows that another war will begin, and Asher will not be put down easily and he will emerge victorious in the name of King Alan. No, he will fight to his last breath--literally.
