Walter Daniel of Lothric

( THIS CHARACTER IS USED FOR A "DARK SOULS" UNIVERSE ROLE-PLAY. HOWEVER, HE CAN BE ARRANGED TO FIT INTO ANY FANTASY/MEDIEVAL ROLE-PLAY OR SO I BELIEVE. )

[ You come across a strange fellow, one whom is known as a pilgrim in these parts on the road to somewhere, but most say it's a road that leads to the great kingdom of Lothric. You can identify him as a male, since his voice is quite ragged and masculine. ]

[ You ask to know which way the nearest settlement is, but instead the fellow decides to tell you a story about a man and you decide to just go with it. ]

" Hear thine tale of Sir Walter of Lothric! Walter Daniel if wish to know his full name. Sir Walter grew up in the slums of Lothric, being quite a poor fellow and having to defend for himself while the kingdom was still around. Of course, Sir Walter is well known for his skills with a sword, and that is because at a young age, he often practiced with such blades. After all, life in the slums was harsh due to thieves or muggers whom tried to steal your food, or else they would kill you in a flash! There was no law, since it wasn't needed or so the nobles believed. They told the poor to defend for themselves down there in the slums, and that is precisely what Walter did when he was of age. He often practiced with his father, who used to be a guard of the city before his drunken behavior got the best of him, and got him kicked out. Since he couldn't pay for anything by measly food, his wife abandoned him and left Walter with him, thus he had to take care of his son. However, Walter's father didn't last very long. He died when Walter was but ten, and he passed away by the wound of a dagger in his stomach and chest.

" Like most tales of men who lose their parents, though this is true, Walter grabbed his father's longsword and went out to seek his father's killers. They had left Lothric and went somewhere down the road, and though most would just give up, Walter did not. He instead just grinned and went after them, and eventually caught up to them while the two murderers were sleeping in a forest. Walter had sneaked up to one, then brutally murdered him with the sword and allowing the screams to wake his friend. His friend attempted to kill Walter, a ten year old boy, but it was impossible. These were not fighters, unlike Walter, and in the end were just only two corpses laying on the ground; and none of them were of a boy.

" Walter returned to Lothric, striking fear into the slums for his well-known swordsmanship. Many had tried to kill Walter and show he wasn't that strong, but they were granted a fast death by Walter's blade. Walter kept his father's longsword as his own, and though his teenage years were full of bloodshed, he remained a sane fellow. Once he turned eighteen, he decided to enlist for the army. However, due to the reputation of his father, they feared the same thing would happen and declined his request. Enraged by this, he decided to make an example of a few guards before he left Lothric for good, fed up with it. He killed a few guards whom patrolled the High Wall, leaving their blood upon the stone walls. Before Walter could leave, he had been discovered and the guard knew what he did, and thus he was imprisoned for his terrible acts of murdering innocent souls.

" Walter was in prison for ten whole years, until he became twenty eight years of age, and that is when he was given a second chance; a choice. Walter would have to seek out a rebellious outlaw and kill his followers, including his wife, or Walter could just rot in prison forever. Of course, a sane man chose the sane choice, and went to kill the outlaw. Once he arrived at the encampment of the outlaw, killing his men, he discovered his mother was the outlaw's wife. Though nobody could tell if Walter regretted, but I believe he did, Walter killed the husband and slayed his own mother. Afterwards, he headed back and was given another task which involved killing. This went on for years upon years, until the kingdom betrayed him when he became thirty five years old. They "executed" him by ambushing him on his way back home one night, and though he fought valiantly and took a lot of the attackers down, he was nevertheless brought down and believed to be dead. Thus, the guards threw the corpse in a ditch in the cemetery and laughed back to the barracks, believing they had killed Walter, but no! Walter remained alive, and barely clinging onto life.

" After Walter managed to bind his wounds, which would forever scar his body. He decided to stay out of Lothric and head to the other kingdoms, until the demons and the wars happened. Thus, the land was thrown into an apocalyptic state (one which we know as the environment of the "Dark Souls" games), and Walter made his way back to Lothric one more time. There, he remained idle and fighting off the demons as he personally hunted the Lords of Cinder himself. However, that changed when he decided to just forget the Lords of Cinder, and instead gather treasure and fight off the demons that invaded the world. Though his body is wrecked with scars and wounds from his fights, he remains a skilled foe to all whom anger him or oppose him. Now, he does just that. He wanders Lothric, taking treasure and killing those who attack him as explained, in search for something that will give his life meaning once again.

" Though most don't know it, except for his himself and the account of the guards, it was known by very few that Walter is a bisexual man. Some say he is more gay than straight though, since his rough, scarred might indicate that he is a dominant person, but no, Walter is a highly submissive male. He has no lover, but it is reported he use to date a man when he was eighteen, which led to a lot of prejudice against him. Though, of course, nobody was a fool to judge him out loud. Besides that, some say Walter is a very caring person if he cares for you, since he had greatly cared for his father until he was murdered, but his vengeance by Walter shows that he does care for the ones he loves. Now, without somebody to hold his hand, he remains in Lothric, living in a tower on High Wall, enjoying the view of the dead guards who have died ever since the invasion. He laughs at their bodies every morning, since he knew he could've saved him if they just let him in their army.

" Now, now. The tale is finally over! Sir Walter of Lothric is out there! Go, find him if you wish! Meanwhile, I will be here...on my quest to die. "

[ The pilgrim marches once again, heading toward the ruins of Lothric and you shrug and decide to walk with him. In a day or so, you too will reach Lothric and find yourself in the ruins of a once great city. Nevertheless, you know that Walter will be the first to see you enter from his tower. ]
