Pleasure to make your acquaintance, stranger! We may know nothing about each other yet, but it humbles me to know that something caught enough of your interest to bring you here! Despite what it may seem, you are all welcome here and accepted in with warm smiles. Though, if that’s not quite what you’re here for, you’ve still come to the right place. Life doesn’t always have to be sunshine and rainbows.
Now, before I indulge you on details about myself, let me detail below a few expectations I have for writing. I don’t like to be a stickler, because it can be quite a downer to find someone who would be a wondrous writing partner but then bombards you with rules, but there must be at least a few parameters. Humor me, if only for a moment, because I feel like a few of these may be a little more than familiar.
♠️ Literacy is something I like to pride myself on. Yes, everyone falters in their life and there will evidently be days were one/both parties can’t muster the strength of a novella reply, but I ask for far more than just one single sentence. Putting a capped minimum down feels unfair to both parties, so I’ll allow myself to be vague in saying ‘one paragraph’. If I send you quite the elongated response, I will be hoping for something of similar quality. Do not be surprised if frequent short replies lead to my disinterest in our plot.
♠️ We all have lives to tend to outside of roleplaying. Even I, who consider my free time to be abundant and often times overwhelming, have a life outside of my writing. It’s a sad and disappointing truth. However, because of this, I completely understand periods of inactivity between the two of us. I simply ask that, should you be offline for more than a few days, or for longer than what we would deem ‘normal’, you give me a warning. I will gladly do the same for you, either through status updates or direct messages.
♠️ This one will be quite self-explanatory (or at least I hope it will be). Do not control my characters. I put great effort into writing out characters of my own. Their backstories, their personalities, everything about them is written out carefully and often times painstakingly. You cannot expect to god-mod your characters, or control mine, and get away with it. I hope you keep such in mind.
♠️ Please keep me aware of any triggers you may have before/while we are writing! I personally have a great affinity for gore and horror, and plots with such natures do not affect me greatly, while in contrast I care not for much if any sexual aspects of plot to be thrown in. I’m not opposed to it, there simply needs to be plenty of build-up before it happens. So, as I don’t enjoy being unpleasantly surprised, I’d assume you don’t either. So please, for both of our sakes, tell me anything that would cause you discomfort in our plot. I will be completely understanding.
With that out of the way, onto myself! While writing with others, the most I usually give out will be my name, sometimes not even that. Not only can you face prejudice for who you are while writing, but the world is an odd place. I keep to myself in most cases, and I’ll open up to people if I feel comfortable enough. With that being said, please don’t be offended if I don’t tell you much about ‘me’ from the get-go. It may come with time, I assure you that.
I’m quite the lover of all things that have to do with horror, having more of a taste for the so called ‘classics’ than I do for many of the newer films coming out. That doesn’t mean I don’t love any of the newer films though! Some of my favorite films are House of 1000 Corpses and its sequel The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Cabin In The Woods, Ash vs. The Evil Dead (the movies, the show, and the musical!) and there are many more. That hardly touches the iceberg of what I enjoy, jut what comes to the top of my head at the moment. I enjoy also a great deal of reading, varying from horror to action to fantasy. Some of my favorite authors include Stephen King, James Rollins, and Jeffery Deaver. I’d like to think that a lot of my writing skills are thanks to reading so much of their work and being inspired through it. Video games are too a bit of a passion of mine. I enjoy most playing the game Dead By Daylight, and I’m sure you have no idea as to why.
Beyond that, there’s little to tell. I’m always appreciative of questions, and I’m sure you’ll find many of them answered if you’re polite enough, but that’s all I have to say for now! I hope we can begin writing together sometime, so never feel intimidated to message me. I always welcome new plots.
