Plot Idea: Tragic Love (Fantasy) (Multiple Routes)

A royal princess is known as the weakest link in terms of power in the royal family, but is still loved by the rest of her family and kingdom. Known as the most beloved heir, many other countries would die to get their hands on her for whatever reasons they could. One day, however, a young mage comes tp the kingdom, the prince to a foreign nation that had been adopted by the king for his talents in magic. The beloved princess suddenly falls madly in love with him, and demands to be wed to them right away. The mage also agrees to marry her, saying that he has fallen madly in love her. It was considered the romance of the century, and two lovers madly in love from first sight.

Little did the royal family know, the princess had been charmed by the mage using dark magic. After the wedding, the princess moves to the mage's homeland to be the future queen, much to her joy. However, when they get to the kingdom, the spell wears off and the mage drops his nice boy act. From there, she is trapped in the kingdom with a man she doesn't love.

I was thinking this could go two ways:

A: The mage could fall in love with the beloved heir and it turns into a twisted and suffocating romance, with the princess being controlled by the mage. This will change the genre into something close to a thriller. From there we can take it many ways.

or

B: The princess meets a knight in the palace garden, one who works for the mage. He falls for her at first sight, as she is a beauty inside and out. From there, he works to free her and they both fall in love. From there we could take it many ways.

We can also do a blend of the two where both the mage and the knight fall in love and she has to pick which to stay with.
