Luna is not her real name, but she will not respond to any other name. Luna appears to enjoy being left alone and avoided by most people, but she is secretly very lonely. It is hard for her to trust people, which makes it hard to make friends, and when she does trust someone she ends up getting too attached.
Her mother is not home much, and when she is she does not treat Luna well; her father disappeared, the last time Luna saw her he gave her a gift, a pocketknife. Luna believes the knife has something to do with her father disappearing.
