Notes From Dr. Daniella Lees (Psy. D):

It has been over a year now that I have been seeing Detective MacLeod at the behest of the GCPD. During our initial appointments, the patient presented as angry, feeling himself to blame for the drive by shooting that took the life of his wife and unborn child. This survivors guilt is an understandable given that the patient watched his wife take a bullet that was meant for him. Coupled with an already severe case of PTSD from his time in military combat, it was of my original opinion that Detective MacLeod should be relieved of his posting and firearm and either medically retired or placed on a permanemt desk detail. However, these past 6 months of treatment has led me to believe otherwise. As far as I can tell, Detective MacLeod has been compliant with his medication and has avoided the use of drugs and alcohol. While his demeanor is still one of an angry man, he presents as extremely rational. He states no longer blames himself for what happened to his wife, and has found a physical outlet to vent his frustration. While I recommend he continue to attend regular therapy, it is of my professional opinion that he may return to active duty at this time.

Personal Note from the Commisioner:

This kid...this poor kid. I dont know if I could keep on doing this job if something happened to my Barbara or Sarah. Its something I worry about every single day. Somehow, this kid carries on. I guess this is what they mean when they say these special forces types are made of different stuff, huh? At first I thought I would be doing him a favor if I took his badge and his gun, but not now. I made his father a partner's promise, and I'm going to look after this kid. Four years on the force and already a Junior Detective, he may just be sitting in my seat one day. I'm returning him to active duty but taking him off Narcotics. The boys in homicide need some help with this Watcher on the loose putting bullets in everything that gets in his way. Luckily so far its all been low life's he's taken out, but how long until it escalates?
